Imo State is one of the States that constitute the South East geo-political Zone of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The State was practicing subsistence agriculture that was indigenous to her in the production of food to feed her teeming population.
The drudgery method of Agriculture unable to sustain food security hence arose the need for mechanized and more advanced agricultural method to sustain food security. In other to achieve this, the State Government had to start shopping for international assistance from across the world to develop her agricultural potentials, in accordance with the government’s agricultural policy, “To boost Agricultural Production through establishing a system that would guarantee rapid increase in Agricultural Production, rapidly growing and ensuring security”.
The Government therefore seeks investors in the following sub-areas:
(a) AdaPalm Nigeria Limited
(b) Imo Modern Poultry – Avutu
(c) Commercial Rice Production
(d) Fishery
